What are the mediums used at Similk’Art?

Similk’Art uses different mediums such, Jesmonite, Plaster, Textured Paste, Epoxy Resin and a wide range of pigments pastes, acrylic paints, alcohol inks, acrylic inks, etc.

The finished pieces of Jesmonite, Plaster and Textured Paste will be porous and matte.

Home Decor pieces made of Jesmonite are sealed with beeswax to make them splash-resistant but they are not water-resistant. Please also note that even though they have been sealed, they can get stained, especially with coffee or wine (if purchasing coasters).

The finished Resin pieces, will be shiny and water resistant. However, it is not recommended to submerge them in water.

To clean any of the above mentioned materials just use an anti-scratch damp cloth and gently rub the surface.

It is recommended to not place any pieces under direct sun & hot temperatures, especially resin pieces. Even though they are UV resistant, they could yellow overtime.

How do I hang Wall Art pieces?

Most of them come with sawtooth picture hangers so you will only need to hang it on a hanging hook on your wall.
